![]() Meet With Your Legislators
Clergy and other religious leaders are recognized by legislators as influential community members and experts on marriage and families. Meetings between religious leaders and legislators are most effective when leaders from different backgrounds and denominations work together. Prior to Constitutional Conventions in 2005 and 2006, RCFM organized meetings between religious leaders and key legislators from across Massachusetts. These meetings were instrumental in gaining additional support for marriage equality. Meetings can be arranged in your district (at a home, church, or office) or at the State House in Boston. You can have a one-on-one meeting, or include your parishioners or other clergy. RCFM can help you contact legislators, connect with supporters in your area, and prepare for your meeting. We will supply you with talking points and up-to-date information about your legislators. To connect with supportive leaders in your area, contact RCFM Assistant Director Maggie Crowley at maggie at rcfm dot org. |
