Take Action

Marriage equality is still not secure in Massachusetts, but people of faith can take action to help protect it.. Legislators need to know that we as people of faith see marriage equality as an issue of social justice and religious liberty.

Please ask your congregation to help stand up for social justice and equality in a way that works best for you. Support is always available — Contact RCFM Assistant Director Maggie Crowley at (617) 878-2390 or Maggie at RCFM dot org.

  1. Meet with your legislators.
  2. Use sermons, announcements, and our new educational brochure, discuss why “letting the people vote” on civil rights issues is never just or right.
  3. Invite RCFM and MassEquality volunteers to collect signatures on postcards after services. These postcards are a great way for us to show the breadth and depth of our support. Or collect postcards on your own with our handy action kit.
  4. Invite a speaker from the RCFM to speak after or during services or at a meeting. We can help educate your congregants to take action and discuss this important issue with their family and friends.
  5. Volunteer:  We need your help as we work to preserve marriage rights for all. Tasks include internet research, preparing mailings, and data entry. Email Maggie at RCFM dot org for more information.  Volunteers are welcome any time, but you can check our homepage for current volunteer night information.
